You’ll fall in love with these winter wedding colors!

One of our favorite things about a winter wedding is the light. As referenced here, the air takes on a bright, ethereal quality and becomes brilliant in a way that no other season affords. A major perk when you’ve chosen a winter wedding is that nature’s backdrop is a bit washed out, lending itself to the PERFECT setting for color that pops.

Because the winter landscape is such a blank canvas, couples enjoy the freedom of choosing some really rich colors to showcase. Taking color inspiration from Mother Nature herself is the key! We are talking about deep reds found in berries, a broad range of greens manifested in evergreens, and intense blues evoking thoughts of longer starry nights. Obviously white makes an appearance for pretty much every single wedding, but we also love incorporating the contrast of black accents whether in the form of a tuxedo, bridesmaid’s evening gown, or a napkin. Gold, silver, pearls, and occasional sparkles are radiant on the runway and add extra flare to the wedding color palette.

We hope you’ll find some inspiration yourself in the following photos!

Something borrowed something blue

Something borrowed, something blue

If a photo ever perfectly displayed the theme and colors for a wedding, it is THIS photo. The deep navy blue in the invitation is accented by light blue and pale eucalyptus most noticeably. Add in some white, rich red, and a sparkly veil to create a perfect pairing. There is both softness and depth to this color palette.

color incorporated

Varying the colors of bridesmaid’s dresses is a fantastic way to incorporate more of your color palette. It is also a perfect way to allow bridesmaids a little bit of self-expression.

green with envy

Another inspired bride chose a deep forest green as her primary color, but she amplified the green by including sequins in bridesmaids dresses. We adore the simplicity of white and green and feel these gals leveled it up significantly! Any time someone incorporates sparkle without employing glitter (our nemesis), we are huge fans. Plus, there is something extra festive about an evening gown accentuated with shimmer. There is added elegance in that gorgeous, romantic display of white wisteria on the mantle.

winter wonderland

Though twinkle lights do not fall under the category of “color”, we think they perfectly highlight any winter wedding. Whether lights are strung across the hall, hung behind the drapes on either side of the fireplace, or simply intertwined with a greenery runner, they add an element of magic and fun.

All that glitters…

We didn’t think it was possible to make black, white, and champagne any classier until this bride had the idea to drape the entire room in twinkle lights. The effect is awe-inspiring and we totally fell in love. The Grand Hall, lovely as she already is, felt like a winter wonderland during this wedding.

Let’s get cozy

Incorporate things that evoke the feeling of warmth. Whether it is draping your shoulders with your grandmother’s fur, lining the hall with candles, or inviting guests to partake in the s’mores bar by the fire pit, these little extras make all the difference in setting the stage for your winter wedding.

If you are considering a wedding during the colder months, you are not alone! It is actually one of our busiest times of the year. Not only is the setting still beautiful on the outside, the climate controlled interior of our Grand Hall ensures that every guest will stay comfortable and warm. When you add in the fact that we routinely flip the space from ceremony to reception, Ramble Creek is fully equipped with everything you need to plan your winter wedding.
