Lovebirds Khloe and Landon and a surprise graduation send-off

One of the best parts of planning events is getting to know the wonderful people that choose Ramble Creek for their special day. We might be a little bit partial, but we think that after hundreds of events, we are pretty darn good judges of character.

Celebrating each other…

The kind of love and support that we observed between Khloe and Landon is what perpetuates a solid bond between two people committed to cheering each other on all throughout their lives.

When Khloe and Landon first came to tour at Ramble Creek, our venue manager, Halea, knew they were head over heels for each other. She also had a reasonably good hunch they were head over heels for our venue. Khloe said they first came to tour just for fun. They thought it was a stretch but they came back a second time to make adjustments to the proposal, and realized they were able to make it work. In her words, “God provided and we got to spend the best day of our lives there!”

Here is a little bit more of Khloe and Landon’s sweet story… They met when they were really young while working at Plato’s Closet— she was 17 and he was 19. Practically high school sweethearts! In the beginning, Khloe says she was annoyed by Landon’s dogged persistence in getting her attention. From his perspective, he knew right away she was the girl he wanted to spend his life loving. He organized a big party for her 18th birthday and even learned a song for her on the piano. That’s when she REALLY knew she didn’t like him because he seemed too good to be true. However, she agreed to date him and the rest is history. On Christmas 9 months later, Landon organized a scavenger hunt for Khloe that took her to all the places that were special to them while they were dating in Johnson City, TN. At the end of the hunt, he and her family and friends were waiting to witness the marriage proposal and be the first to congratulate them. She was surprised but had no doubt in her mind that they were perfect for each other. Of course, she said, “YES!”

Our couples all have different needs and timelines, so the length of time couples have to plan their weddings varies quite a bit. For Khloe and Landon, they wanted to make sure Landon was nearly finished with college before they got married. They decided to start planning with us a year and a half before the wedding date. Life being what it is, there was a last minute curve ball thrown into the plans. Khloe shared part of the story with us saying, “Landon was actually supposed to graduate two days before our wedding. He was really excited and proud of himself because he worked hard enough to graduate a semester early, so it would be easier for us to get married sooner. He didn’t say much when (his university) moved the graduation date to Saturday, but everyone could tell he was devastated he wouldn’t get to walk after all of the work he put into it. I figured if he was supposed to graduate on our wedding day, he would! So instead of a sparkler exit I planned a ‘graduation exit’ for him! He definitely wasn’t expecting it at all. I almost didn’t do it because I thought it might be silly, but I’m so glad I did! He loved it!”

You can imagine how touching this sweet gesture was to everyone present. The kind of love and support that we observed between Khloe and Landon is what perpetuates a solid bond between two people committed to cheering each other on all throughout their lives. We have no doubt they will continue to share wholeheartedly in whatever comes their way. When we asked Khloe what her favorite part about their relationship is, she simply stated, “I have no way of describing it other than that it’s perfect. Our personalities compliment each other so well, we have all of the same goals and interests so we are able to understand and support each other in everything. We share a selfless, unconditional love that I don’t see in very many people.”

If you are reading this blog post right now, chances are you might be in the same boat as Khloe and Landon, planning a wedding while also doing ALL the other things necessary to the building blocks of life. We asked her if she was stressed about the challenges of planning at this time, and she said, “Fortunately, with all that Ramble Creek did, we didn’t have much stress. I would say the pandemic definitely was a stress factor on guest count, and wondering if we would be allowed to invite more than a handful of close friends and family.” Thankfully, they had a full house of people excited to celebrate them and their love!

It’s always so affirming to hear back from a bride that something we did eased the process for her. That is completely our goal with every couple!
